True “Love” – Calligraphy by a Pen by Ms. Maria
Hello! I’m a writer of KARAKURIJAPAN, Yonosuke! I’ll introduce a work by Ms. Maria.
We had her write the word “love”. It’s called “ai” in Japanese.
How did she write it?
How did Ms. Maria Write “Love”?
She always writes amazing work. How did she write it at this time?
Let’s take a look at her explanation.
I am a little girly, and long for “true love”,
so I wrote it as prudish with expressions.
There is a work of Ouyang Xun, called Kyuseikyu Renseimei. And a technique is used in this work.
Usually you put the brush as it is, and move it straightly. However, with this technique called gyakuhitsu, you put the brush to the opposite way,
then turn it to the usual way to make the line strong.
I used this technique to represent the atmosphere of true love.
So she wrote it imagining true love. I thought she is cool because she writes powerful letters. However, she is a woman. She has girly thought like many women! That’s a good gap!
Who is Ouyang Xun? What is Kyuseikyu Reisenmei?

In her explanation, there are words you might not know, Ouyang Xun, and Kyuseikyu Renseimei.
Ouyang Xun is a famous calligrapher known as a one of the three best calligraphers in old China. So you might know him if you have been doing calligraphy.
And his most famous work is Kyuseikyu Reisenmei. It is written with a special technique.
As Ms. Maria said, the technique is putting the brush to the opposite way, and then turning it to the usual way.
It makes lines stronger than in usual way.
So she used this technique to represent the atmosphere of true love. Excellent!
Then how it has become?
Kyuseikyu Reisenmei – “Love”
I’ll explain how she wrote it, and also you can see the details in the video. Please watch it!
▲Wrote it using the technique used in Kyuseikyu Reisenmei. She put the brush to the opposite way, and it’s interesting. It looks like a spin. And it looks more powerful than usual!
▲The closer it gets to the completion, the more powerful it becomes. And it looks really TRUE. She exactly represented TRUE love.
▲Completion of “love” by Ms. Maria. Her thought towards love is true. It looks exactly true.
This amazing work represented how her personality is amazing. I definitely want this beautiful fascinating woman to be happy! Ms. Maria, please grab a true love and be happy someday!
