Origami is a traditional Japanese culture. I think every Japanese has played with it when he/she was a child. It is a play that were enjoyed with by many people.

Then do you know how long origami has been played with?

According to one estimate, origami has been played with since edo period. Edo period is from 150 to 400 years ago. So long ago!

Even now, origami is being played with by many children. It’s still popular!

 

How to Make an Easy Origami Pheasant

I’ll introduce how to make an easy origami pheasant at this time. By the way, pheasant is called kiji in Japanese.

Origami has many works of animals! The typical origami work, crane is also an animal.

I don’t know the reason, but I think that’s because animals made from origami are cute! I get relaxed to see one on my desk.

Then, I’ll explain how to make one of these animals, pheasant.

 

How to Make an Easy Origami Pheasant

1.Make Diagonal Creases and Fold it to Put the Sides along the Center Line

▲At first make diagonal creases. Creases are important to make an origami work. Be careful. Then fold it to put the sides along the center line like this picture.

 

2. Pick up and Fold it Following Creases to Put the Sides along the Center Line

▲Pick up and fold it following creases to put the sides along the center line! Creases become useful at this step! That’s why creases are really important!

Do same for the other side.

 

3. Turn it over and make a pleats fold

▲Turn it over and make a pleats fold. The part of pleats fold will be the tail. It’s getting like a pheasant! A little more!

 

4. Open and Squash the Small Corners to Make the Tail Thin

5. Fold it in half and Make a Big Outside Reverse Fold

6. Make an Outside Reverse Fold again and Fold the Lower Part Inside

▲Again, make an outside reverse fold. This part will be the head!

At last fold the lower part inside. Then it’s done!

 

Completion of Origami Pheasant!

A pheasant is completed! It completely represents a pheasant! It’s as fascinating as a crane which is a typical work of origami! It can be an interior in your room!
